Dog bite training develops prey drive instincts. Dog grip and drive skills are built, which are used in further training, sport and work. Dog bite grip building is started when a puppy is 3-4 months. The puppy is taught to chase and catch the bite tug. Work with a bite builder is the next stage of dog training.
Hold the tool in horizontal position right on puppy jaws and move the tug from one side to another. The purpose of the exercise is achieved when the dog bites the tool with full mouth.
Never pull hard the bite tug out the dog's teeth. This may interfere further training if this work makes the dog feel uncomfortable.
Your dog shouldn't get tired of exercising. It is better to make them shorter, but to repeat 3-4 times.
Play "tug of war" with the dog. Let it to be a winner each time with getting a "prize". Give a command to leave the tool after the dog runs about with it in teeth for a while.
